David started his illustrious career in 1988 as a Military Policeman with the Ministry of Defence. He conducted a range of duties including Close Protection, Close Protection instructor, Investigations, and Field Operations, in the United Kingdom, Cyprus, Northern Ireland, Former Yugoslavia, Germany, Algeria, Iraq, and Afghanistan.
During his time with the MOD, David operated as a Royal Military Police Close Protection Operative. Deploying on numerous operational tours of duty, providing Close Protection to senior military figures, Government ministers, and members of the Foreign and Commonwealth Office, such as British Ambassadors, in high-threat and volatile locations.
After leaving the military, David joined SOCA (Serious Organised Crime Agency) as an Overseas Security Manager until 2012 when he was promoted to Deputy Head of Overseas Security. David provided high-level support to deliver and implement overseas security strategy and coordinate operational and training activities conducted jointly with key strategic security partners. Providing advice and assistance in planning high-risk operations in hostile and high-threat environments.
David later spent 11 years as an operational security advisor to the NCA, for Afghanistan, followed by Americas, Caribbean and Iraq. His role entailed providing security advice to the Country Manager and the management team on all security issues including risk management, operational planning, movement, future tasks, and projects. He played a pivotal role in embedding security through NCA activity in Afghanistan and enhancing confidence by intervention in the appropriate risk management action.
David joined Securitatem Consultancy as Operations Director in 2024, tasked with delivering the highest standard in operations for Securitatem Consultancy and our clients. He spearheads our strategic security requirements, including international liaisons, threat and risk assessments, security surveys, operational intelligence, close protection deployments, and investigations.
